Growing Information
Plant the bare root rhizomes just below the soil surface with buds facing upward. Space roots 6 inches apart in rows 6 to 12 inches apart. Use a thick mulch layer of hardwood leaves or shredded bark, raking back 1 to 2 inches before spring emergence. Maintain regular watering to keep soil moist but not soggy. These ferns grow in clumps and prefer rich, well-drained soil in shaded locations.
