Growing Information
Plant the rhizomes just below the soil surface with buds facing upward, spacing them 6 inches apart and rows 6 to 12 inches apart. They prefer well-drained, loamy soil and thrive in full sun to partial shade. Water moderately, allowing the soil to dry between waterings. Mulch with hardwood leaves or shredded bark, raking back 1 to 2 inches before new growth appears in spring. Suitable for USDA hardiness zones 3 through 9.
