Growing Information
The Fuji Apple Tree is a deciduous fruit tree that thrives in full sun, requiring 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily. It prefers well-draining, fertile soil and moderate watering to keep the soil consistently moist during establishment. The tree grows at a moderate rate and reaches a mature height of 12 to 16 feet, which can be controlled with pruning. Suitable for USDA zones 4 through 9, it can be grown in containers when young but performs best when planted in the ground long-term.
For optimal fruit production, Fuji apple trees need a compatible pollinator variety such as Gala, Granny Smith, or Honeycrisp planted within 50 to 100 feet. The apples are firm, juicy, and sweet, making them excellent for fresh eating, baking, and long-term storage.
