Key Features
- Curled, tubular green leaves with red tips
- Drought-tolerant and low-maintenance
- Compact, tree-like growth habit ideal for bonsai
- Thrives in bright indirect light to full sun
- Symbolizes prosperity and good luck
Growing Information
This succulent prefers bright indirect light to full sun, which enhances the red coloration on its leaf tips. It requires minimal watering; allow the soil to dry completely between waterings to prevent root rot. Over time, ‘Hobbit Jade’ develops a thick, sculptural trunk, growing up to 12-30 inches tall. It is best planted in a well-draining succulent or cactus soil mix. While it rarely flowers indoors, occasional white or pink blooms may appear. Suitable for USDA zones 9-11 outdoors, it is commonly grown as an indoor plant in other zones.
