- Bushy growth habit that encourages branching with pinching
- Vibrant blooms in shades of red, pink, or purple
- Attracts bees, hummingbirds, and other pollinators
- Easy care with drought and heat tolerance
- Thrives in full sun to partial shade
- Tolerates poor soils but prefers well-drained conditions
- Maintenance includes deadheading to prolong bloom and thinning clumps for air circulation
Growing Information
Plant the Bee Balm immediately upon arrival, preferably after sunset, and water well during the first few days to help establishment. These perennials grow best in well-drained soil and can tolerate a range of soil qualities. They thrive in USDA hardiness zones 3 through 9. Regular watering is recommended especially during establishment, and pinching encourages bushier growth and more blooms.
