Growing Information

Austree Willows are deciduous trees that thrive in full sun but can tolerate partial shade. They prefer moist, well-draining soil and require consistent moisture during rooting. Mature trees can reach heights of 40 to 50 feet or more. These trees are best planted directly in the ground and are suitable for USDA zones 4 through 10.

For successful establishment, it is recommended to start the cuttings in water until roots develop to 2–3 inches, then transplant into soil. Water daily during the establishment phase and avoid fertilizing until the plants are well rooted. Avoid planting during freezing temperatures.
