Watering should be infrequent, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot. This cactus grows upright with a clumping habit, reaching up to 3 feet in height and spreading 2 to 3 feet. It is hardy in USDA zones 7 through 11, making it suitable for a variety of climates.
