Key Features

  • Produces rich, edible nuts perfect for baking and cooking
  • Strong, durable wood highly valued for timber

Growing Information

Plant the Black Walnut tree in full sun with well-drained, deep soil. It adapts well to loamy, sandy, and clay soils. Water regularly during establishment, then moderate watering is sufficient as the tree becomes drought-tolerant. The tree has a moderate to fast growth rate and can reach 50-80 feet at maturity.
